In April 2021, the University Council decided to temporarily transfer the College of Public Health to the second floor of the South Building of the College of Life Sciences in the University City of Sabah Al-Salem, until the completion of the building of the College of Public Health on the medical campus.

What is Public Health

Public health is a field focused on how to maintain and improve health and wellbeing in human populations. It refers to actions in society to prevent disease, promote health and well-being, and reduce disease, disability, injury, and premature death in the population as a whole. It identifies the population’s health needs, and provides solutions to address those needs, and not only by curing diseases and providing healthcare. Public health aims to enhance the quality of life and health outcomes for entire populations, rather focusing only on individuals’ healthcare.
