The Department of Health Policy & Management will advance health through development, implementation, dissemination, and evaluation of evidence‐based policies and practices. It will emphasize leadership and sound management as essential for effective development of services. It will conduct health policy research, including: organization, economic analysis, financing, and ethical aspects of service delivery, and related impacts on access, quality, outcomes and cost, for the whole of society including a focus on the most vulnerable. Its approach to public policies and programs will take into account sociopolitical, legal, and practice‐based considerations, including the role of advocacy and other health promoting strategies that contribute to prevention.
